C14-PARIS is aimed

– to authors of sculptural ceramic pieces (from volume to mix-media installation).

The selection of the exhibitors is established on file (online or paper) by the members of the jury.

The call for applications is launched on 1 December 2018 and ends on 28 February 2019.

The artistic file can be sent by post to the address of

* (online application and parallel sending of checks by post possible)

The file will only be taken into account upon receipt of payment.

THE APPLICATION FILE INCLUDES

– a letter of motivation (max 15 lines)

– an artistic file:
° a short CV describing your career (date of birth + nationality + school curriculum + maximum 6 personal and / or major collective exhibitions)
° contact details: postal address / tel. / email / site
° a presentation of the project (text of 15 lines max in French or in English)
° 10 visuals low definition of works of less than 3 years
° 1 high-definition visual (jpeg file / 300 dpi) intended to appear in the catalog and representing a piece likely to be exposed + its legend (title, date of creation, materials and techniques used, dimensions). Mark up, down, right and left.
N.B. This visual is editable until the end of May.
° 1 portrait (photo ID type)

– the regulation to initial on each page, to approve and sign
– registration fees: in 2 checks of 150 € or by bank transfer of 300 € (see exhibitor’s obligations, art.1).

NB: in the case of sending by mail or sending checks, provide to attach to the file a stamped envelope to the address of the candidate (4.80 in green letter for France for a large format envelope and 9,60 € internationally).

The jury is composed of F. Bodet, L. Crespin, S. The Follic-Hadida, P. Loughran + 2 external guests, artist or from the museum or art market.

THE JURY OF THE FAIR WILL THEREFORE ALLOCATE 2 PRIZES

– 1st Prize: Jury Prize exhibition in a municipal gallery of Paris or in a private gallery (communication + newsletter) + sponsoring Ceradel (500 €) + Baillet sponsorship (earth).
– 2nd prize: ‘residence’ prize (encouragement of an approach) in France or in Europe.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE ASSOCIATION C14-PARIS

C14-PARIS undertakes to make available to the exhibitor a stand in accordance with what has been announced and on the given dates (except cancellation of the show independent of our will – see art § last regulation).

C14-PARIS undertakes to promote to the best and within the limits of its financial means the Salon:
– on his website
– by publishing newsletters
– by being present on social networks (Facebook and Instagram)
– by associating with the skills of a (-e) attaché (-e) of press
– by buying advertising space from strategic magazines
– by having professionals make a teaser video posted on the 1st day of the show
– by having a professional photographer produce a photo report of the show.

C14-PARIS undertakes to publish a color catalog reproducing a work of each of the exhibitors.
The exhibitor will benefit from 2 ex. free of the catalog.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE EXHIBITOR

Art.1
Participation fee

The selected artist must pay a participation fee of 300 €. Payment can be made by check or online payment:
Option 1. The candidate candidate online and makes the payment of the online participation fee of 300 € by the application form, CB or Paypal
Option 2. The artist sends his application by post and attaches two checks of 150 € each, one of which will result in a 1st collection to the selection and a 2nd in the week preceding the Salon. Checks must be made payable to C14-PARIS.
This regulation contributes to the organization of the event and the production of the catalog.
In case of non-selection, the full participation fee will be refunded.

Art.2
Selection of works

The exhibited works result from a consensual choice made beforehand by the direction of the Salon and the artist. They must be recent and / or never exposed.
The proposed works must be mostly ceramic but can be composite.
Mostly ceramic installations may contain non-ceramic elements (drawings, photos, paintings, etc.).
If exhibited works, not previously submitted to show management, are deemed unethical at the Show, the management is entitled to remove them.

Art.3
No competition

The selected artist undertakes not to exhibit in parallel in Ile de France during the 5 months preceding the Salon C14-PARIS.

Art.4
Stand

Exhibitors have a standard stand of H.250 x L.300 x D.100 cm in white satin plywood 1.5 cm thick. Wall pieces, floor, pedestals are accepted. Exhibitors are responsible for its layout. The latter must be thought of as a real scenographic issue. The project can be submitted to the Show management and discussed. Fabrics and curtains are to be avoided.
Stand lighting is planned. For fire safety reasons, any addition of a spot or electrical outlet is forbidden.
NB: For fire safety reasons, it is forbidden to store cartons and other packaging behind the stand or elsewhere on the exhibition site.

Art.5
Attendance at the show
Exhibitors agree to be present at their stand for the duration of the Show and at the stated opening hours. In the event of a punctual and unavoidable absence, they must inform a member of the present office.

Art.6
Transportation of works
The return transport of the exhibits, as well as their handling, are the sole responsibility of the exhibitors.

Art.7
Accommodation in Paris is the responsibility of the exhibitor.
C14-PARIS can provide some addresses if necessary.

Art.8
Insurance of exhibitors’ works
The association C14-PARIS does not provide exhibitors or works. It is the responsibility of everyone to subscribe to an individual civil insurance and to insure his works against breakage or theft.
The artists are solely responsible for the objects presented or stored in their stand as well as damage caused to third parties because of their installation.

Art.9
Reproduction rights
Each exhibitor undertakes to assign his rights to the use of the catalog visual between the beginning of April and the end of November for the purpose of promoting the event (print and internet).
Each exhibitor undertakes to definitively assign his rights to the use of the images made during the Salon at the request of C14-PARIS to the videographer and the delegated photographer.

Art.10
Sales
The annex room of the City Hall of XIVème arr. Paris is not a commercial gallery. C14-PARIS has no commercial purpose and does not intend to collect commission on any sales. The list of prices established is indicative and for any request for acquisition, the visitor is encouraged to contact the exhibitor directly.
The organizer’s responsibility can not be accepted in case of conflict of any nature between buyers and exhibitors.

Art.11
Disclaimer
In case of withdrawal of an exhibitor after the date of the draw to catalog (late May) sums already cashed would not be retroceded.
The signature of the present regulations and the registration entail for the exhibitor the obligation to comply with them expressly as well as all the prescriptions that it would be appropriate for the prefectural and municipal administrations to enact concerning the police and security measures. without any recourse of any kind whatsoever.
Any delay, change of date or early closure beyond the control of C14-PARIS will not give right to any compensation.
If C14-PARIS was forced to cancel the show, the refund of the sums collected would be immediately made. No recourse to any title whatsoever against the organizers or the association C14-PARIS is admissible.
